Adult Sized Newborn Shoot
It’s been 35 days since we were asked not to work due to Covid 19 restrictions. For Jen and I, two Richmond, Va newborn photographers, that seems like an eternity. Since we’re besties, we’ve been in each other’s quarantine circle since this whole thing started. Then one night over drinks by the fire pit we came up with this hilarious idea! Since we can’t photograph newborns right now, let’s photograph each other! Jen Jacobowitz Photography + 11 Sixteen Photography = an adult sized newborn photo shoot.
Let me start by stating that neither one of us was actually naked. That makes the whole thing better doesn’t it? We just tucked in straps and rolled up shorts so we could get the best pictures! When my husband and kids came into the studio in the middle of the shoot, well, there were lots of questions.
So on a rainy Tuesday we took to my Short Pump studio and attempted an adult sized newborn photo shoot, just like we would do for our clients. Just on a much larger scale. First problem, we don’t fit in any of our props. Second problem, we’re not nearly as flexible as the newborn babies we photograph.
After the session we uploaded our pictures and edited them exactly as we would for a real newborn session. We’re both very excited to get back to work at the end of next week, and now we’ve got our skills sharpened up for our clients.
In the end I guess I’m slightly embarrassed that these pictures now exist in the world, but it’s all in the name of good fun. Both Jen and I hope these images made you laugh and gave you a few minutes of levity during the current global pandemic. Y’all stay home, stay safe and we’ll see you soon!
